Below are a few items that are sometimes left off of
New Home Owners’ Lists of Things To Do
- Mortgage & Insurance Make sure you know due dates, where to send payments, etc.
- Set up utilities, cable TV, etc. in your name
- Triple-Check your new billing address with all creditors
- Prepping the house – Some work (paint, new flooring, etc.) is much easier done before you move in all of your stuff.
- Change the locks
- Get acquainted with the different systems of the home – Know where things are (shut off valves, etc) & how they work.
- Check & replace filters as necessary
- Labeling – electric panel breakers, incoming & outgoing pipes, shut-off valves, etc.
- Service Checks – Schedule service &/or regular maintenance on any systems that may require it.
