Air conditioning system worked just fine, but suddenly it isn’t working ???
We recommend checking the following:
- Thermostat Batteries – most common issue we see. Simply replace the batteries.
- Breaker is “OFF” – Simply turn the breaker back on. Keep in mind that most systems have separate breakers for the air handler and the condenser.
- Condenser Disconnect – Once in a while, we find that the electrical disconnect near the condensing unit outside is missing! Most Electricians & Air Conditioning Technicians can replace the missing component.
- Activated Float Switch – Many air handlers are designed to shut off when the water level in the drip pan is close to overflowing. This helps prevent water damage if the drip line is clogged. Simply clean the condensate drain to enable the system to drain properly. Once the float switch falls back down, the system should operate normally.
- Loose Thermostat – Some thermostats need to be detached from the mounting plate to replace the batteries. If they are not properly remounted, the system will not operate. Simply remove the thermostat and carefully re-install it onto the mounting plate properly.
What a perfect web site. I have used the advice & recommendations of other Todd’s Tips before, but this one saved me $125 Service Call thanks
