It’s that time of year – You should check and clean vent screens to attic or crawl space for tears and/or bent frames. It’s also a good idea to check dryer vent screens & ridge vent end caps while you’re at it. Replace any damaged or missing screens & clean any that need it. Simply run a vacuum over them with a soft brush attachment and light suction. If they aren’t coming clean, lay them flat & scrub them with a soft bristle brush and a mild detergent solution.

My friend, you are a life saver. I neglected my vent screens until I read your post & thank goodness … A bird had gotten in there. Luckily I noticed it before it had done too much damage or died in there. I can only imagine what that would have smelled like.
THANKS – never realized that this was something to keep an eye on.
Great info here. I’ll have to get my husband to check ours.
